filmmaker.

Name: Stéphane Gérard

Age: Born in 1987

Notes: March 2019. I met Stéphane at the opening night of the exhibition, Metanoia: Transformation Through AIDS Archives and Activism, an archival examination of community-based responses to the ongoing AIDS crisis in America. The exhibition’s title is of Greek origin and expresses the possibility of change through transformation. Metanoia opened at The LGBT Community Center, New York City, March 11 - April 29, 2019. We share two names, Steven = Stéphane, and his middle name is like mine, Gerald = Gérard.

Looking forward to going to Paris this or next year to hang out with Stéphane and other friends including Maboula Soumahoro, a French Scholar, whose new book, Black Is the Journey, Africana the Name (original title in French, Le Triangle et l'Hexagone) you should get — now.
